Flyglobespan to fly from Glasgow Airport to Hurghada in Egypt from November

Flyglobespan will be flying from Glasgow Airport to the Egyptian resort town of Hurghada from November 2008.

The weekly flights will leave Scotland on Wednesdays from the 5th of November with prices starting at £119.99 each way (including tax).

The Red Sea resort of Hurghada is known for its diving and watersports, nightlife and warm weather - daily high temperature hovers round 90°F most of the year.

The launch of this new destination is in addition to the existing weekly Wednesday Edinburgh to Sharm El Sheikh flight which Flyglobespan launched last winter.

"We are delighted to be launching another direct flight from Scotland to Egypt," said Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple.

"The success of the Sharm el Sheikh, which began as a winter destination only but proved so popular that it soon became one of our year-round destinations, was definitely a contributing factor in this decision to launch the Glasgow Hurghada flight.

"I am confident that Hurghada, with its sandy beaches, great climate and world class hotels, will be a great success, attracting a mix of families, couples and dive enthusiasts."
