easyJet now flying to Murcia from Newcastle

easyJet has launched a new service from Newcastle Airport to Murcia in South-East Spain.

The new three times a week service (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) will provide the North East's travellers direct access to the Murcia region and some of the most beautiful beaches along the Spanish coastline. Ticket prices start from £46.98 return (including taxes).

Murcia is easyJet’s 17th destination from Newcastle and the airline expects to carry 41,000 passengers on this new route in the first 12 months of operation.

Murcia is nestled between Alicante and Almeria on the Costa Calida, with over 100 miles of golden coastline along the Mediterranean Sea. This magnificent city is filled with 18th century architecture including its breathtaking cathedral located at the Plaza del Cardinal Belluga. The Murcia province is famed for its mild climate, diversified ecological landscape and love of sport and good food, making it an ideal getaway for those in search of relaxation.

"Murcia is already a popular destination from other easyJet bases in the UK," said Carly Brear, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, "And now travellers from the north east can take advantage of one of the most popular destinations on the east coast of Spain. Forward bookings for the route have been very strong, which further proves the demand for direct low fare flights from Newcastle to the sun."
