Ryanair have launched a new service from Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Reus in Spain, gateway to Salou and the Costa Dorada and 55 miles from the city of Barcelona.

Reus Airport is the closest airport for passengers passengers destined for the beach resorts of Salou and Cambrils on Spain's Costa Dorada. It is also close to one of Europe's largest theme parks, Port Aventura, the only Universal Studios theme park in Europe.

The city of Barcelona is 55 miles to the north, making Reus an ideal and often cheaper alternative to flying directly to the city. Reus is connected to Barcelona by both public and private transport options.

The nearest city to Reus is actually Tarragona, a city rich in heritage dating back to ancient times. Its Roman Amphitheatre by the sea is a must see.

Other local attractions include the mountains of Prades, a Mediterranean forest in the comarca of Baix Camp and the neighbouring wine region of The Priorat.
